It appears he opted out of the vaccine, which had been made available to members of Congress five weeks before he contracted Covid.
Well, at least Bill Gates doesn't know where he died.

Yeah lung cancer. Super curable.

I don't really care what his reasoning was. We need to let go of this obsession with death.

Also this "but he really died of X" take is super offensive if you know anyone that died of covid but had other diseases going on to. You can have cancer and still die because covid 19 made it so you couldn't draw enough oxygen into your lungs to keep living.

You can also not be able to take the vaccine because you're fucked with lung cancer. The media jabronis can't wait to type up the gotcha headlines though.

Glad your uncle is doing better. My mom has been on Chemo since before this pandemic started, one year left (she's beyond the heavy stuff), so it's been a rough year. She can't really go anywhere, but she lives alone and it doesn't seem too good to be alone for a year, either. At least in the warmer months people can hang out outdoors.

I hope your mom is doing well with Chemo and isolation. It's gotta be rough.

Had the "DNR talk" with my mom about my dad last night. He's still hanging in there, but it could go either way right now.

Shit man, sorry to hear that. I still remember that conversation from when my mom past 25 years ago, but in my case it was with her mother, which was whole other level of misery I wouldnt wish on anyone.

Ugh, these are not conversations anyone wants to have. Had to deal with this last May with my dad. Sorry, man. Hope he beats it.

Ugh. Sorry for you both. (You too, blue viper, you posted when I previewed) What a fuckin year. I lost both of my grandmothers (101 & 96 years old) in the last two months of 2020. What are the odds? How do you collectively live that many years and die 3 weeks apart during the last 6 weeks of the year??? I’m not upset about them, they lived long, happy lives, it was their time, they didn’t suffer. And I’m not superstitious, but what a coincidence.

Also, my mom selected me as the one who gets to decide this DNR business someday. Yay.
