I'm not used to so much positivity on a Pearl Jam album with you.
I came back from my slumber just to say that.
Also, hi
Edit:
By the way, this is my take on the album:
Listening more calmly here, after absorbing the songs more, I would say:
Scared of Fear: The song is okay, catchy chorus, it's good, but nothing wonderful. Rating 6.
React/Respond: I loved this song, I can see Eddie from Vitalogy singing this song. One of my favorite choruses from them in a long time. Rating 9.
Wreckage: This song is perfect. Rating 10.
Dark Matter: This song is perfect. Rating 10.
Won't Tell: It's good, I can't explain, it has a more 'adult' feel, reminds me a bit of U2 for some reason, but has a very good chorus. Rating 7.
Upper Hand: Best song on the album. It gives me feelings of Present Tense, Nothing as it Seems, it's nostalgic and new at the same time. Rating 11.
Waiting For Stevie: It's good, one of the best other tracks on the album, and one of the best solos by Mike, and the lyrics are very good, also has a nostalgic feel. Rating 8.
Running: Basic, a standard punkish song that PJ has on all albums, but made with excelency. It's the Supersonic they were trying to record since... I don't know, Blood maybe? Rating 7
Something Special: Cute, but nothing too wow. Rating 6.
Got to Give: Didn't really get the hype, loved the intro, it kind of does the same thing as Wreckage, Won't Tell, and Waiting For Stevie, but with less excellence. But can't deny that its ending is very good, and Eddie is at his best. Rating 7.
Setting Sun: Beautiful song, a perfect closer for the album. Rating 8.
I think that the whole "we need to have an epic coda" in all mid tempo songs kinda gets annoying in subsequent listens. And I find the lack of memorable guitar riffs disturbing.
By anywho, it's a good album. I still prefere Gigaton over it, though
