My dad just got out of FA. He had the following comments

1. Great movie
2. Hans death was a surprise
3. It was moving
4. He likes R2 more than bb8
5. Admiral Ackbar aged the best of all the old characters

the collider jedi Council FA breakdown is here..was waiting for this..its almost 2 hours long and goes into everything best of all theories and the questions we all have! seriously recommend these guys, they know what theyre talking about

Okay, saw it my third time with my nephew and sister.

I really do think Adam Driver plays Kylo Ren wonderfully. Totally interested to see his story arc. I actually love his voice and I like the contrast of him with his helmet off. baby face. Softer voice. I think it adds to his character.

Snap Wexley? Greg? Gunberg dude was a terrible cast. He doesnt have much of a part but every time he is in the cockpit he is grinning like an idiot with a face that says " holy shit im in star wars!!!!!". its like casting Jimmy Fallon in anything.

General Hux - I just dont believe him as a character. Way too young looking and find him kind of hilarious.

Ive said enough about Ridley and Boyega and BB8. Just as awesome.

The opening scene on Jakku was awesome. I do wish Max Von Sydow played more of a role in the film but perhaps we will see more of him onscreen over the next two movies.

My favorite part is still when Rey calls the lightsaber to her and opens a can of whoop ass on Kylo.

My nephew and sister loved it. Big smiles on their faces.

Oh, I also do not like/care for how r2 finally decides to wake up. WTF? Unless I missed the reason for it.

3po was pointless but had 1 good joke.

I hope Snoke becomes a more believable physical character within the next 2 movies.

From an Entertainment Weekly article with J.J. Abrams titled, “J.J. Abrams explains R2-D2's closing scene in Star Wars: The Force Awakens”:

“BB-8 comes up and says something to him, which is basically, ‘I’ve got this piece of a map, do you happen to have the rest?’” Abrams said. “The idea was, R2 who has been all over the galaxy, is still in his coma, but he hears this. And it triggers something that would ultimately wake him up.”

The director acknowledges that R2’s sudden “awakening” at the end was designed to be an emotional storytelling utility: “While it may seem, you know, completely lucky and an easy way out, at that point in the movie, when you’ve lost a person, desperately, and somebody you hopefully care about is unconscious, you want someone to return.”

So for those let wondering: BB-8’s earlier question rattles around inside R2’s dome for a while. Those old astromechs must just take a while to boot up again.

Then as the movie draws to a close, our old friend finally comes back – and leads us to another one.

So the "awakening" was really R2?

So what does B think of this movie?

You guys should really watch the collider Jedi council YouTube link up above. Really gets into it. Didn't cover as much of the end as I'd hoped but it's great.

R2's awakening was the emotional crux of the movie. I could melt into tears just thinking about it now.
I think it totally made sense that all of a sudden R2 realized that with the info from BB-8 they were able to piece the map together and find his long-lost master.

Damn, I wish someone gave me an astromech droid for Christmas. Actually, I did get this so I'm pretty happy....

R2 is the hero of each film. Saves the day everytime. Puts the fire out on the falcon and gets them out of the trash compactor in a new hope, opens the door to the landing pad in empire, also turns on the hyperdrive in empire. throws Lukes lightsaber to him in Jedi.. Opens the back door to the shield generator in Jedi.


Saves the map of the Galaxy from the archive he downloaded in the OT to find Luke IN THE NEW TRILOGY

R2 should've downloaded the Emporer's credit card data
