An. Generally, with acronyms, the a/and rule obeys how the word "sounds", not how it "looks". So if the abbreviation starts with a vowel-sounding letter, you should use "an". If it starts with a consonant-sounding letter, use an "a". Examples: "an HIV patient", "a BBC documentary".

i feel like when referring to letters (both vowels & consonants), it sounds better to use "an."
