The parents in our local mothers' facebook group have been screaming incessantly for school to start. Now it's going to start, and they've started blowing up because the schools are going to keep their kids 6 feet apart.

What did these parents think school was going to be?

Sure, but did they think their kids would be snuggling and hugging and sharing food off of each other's spoons. They're 6 feet apart at every conceivable opportunity. Why would that be negotiable?

Are all the schools remote in some of the places you guys live? School re-opening is becoming national news again, and I guess I didn't realize how many were still out. Most of my state is roughly within a 2 hour drive to New York City, and we were a hard hit state at first, but most schools around here have been open all school year without any issues. It's been a bit more difficult in the cities here, they've had to take some pauses, but CT has been making it work.

Again, a big city with infrastructure/economic and other challenges, I get it. But I struggle to understand why it's an issue beyond those places.
