Having a hard time really getting into a game right now. Have started...

Doom (2016)
Outer Wilds
Shadow of the Tomb Raider

Need to keep playing them to see what sticks right now.

Doom got old really fast for me
I haven't played a FPS campaign in years. Have heard such great things about it.

I'll check later, usually there is. I loaded it up at 12:00 last night and only was able to get a few swings in and started to build my Diamond Dynasty team. I have been flipping cards on and off today but am itching to actually play.

Yeah, basically the same thing. Last year I had a lot of fun with it and spent $0 in microtransactions. I don't play online but there are a couple of offline playmodes that are exciting and challenging.

They do a lot of in-season stuff, like playable moments (so if an MLB team has an exciting comeback or walkoff, or if someone throws a no-hitter, you can try to recreate it in-game), and every two weeks or so they update player ratings, so I dunno how that's going to work between now and whenever the season actually begins.

I like that because you don't have to play full games, just situations.. so you can kinda quick play this n that

There's a free Resident Evil 3 demo available now. Haven't played yet but definitely diving in this weekend. I still remember nearly shitting my pants from the original in 1999!

Doom Eternal.

I'm finding it much harder than Doom 2016, though as you're given more tools it gets a bit more doable. I liked feeling like an unstoppable badass in 2016, and you don't get that here - it's a lot more tense.

Also, it's basically like a puzzle game: Survey the battlefield, pick out priority targets, pick the right tool (weapon/mod) for each, repeat. It's actually quite "think-y".

Good to know. I'm really starting to enjoy Doom (2016). Will check out Eternal after a price drop.

At some point, they implemented a skill-based match making algorithm, and it’s working really well: I’m almost never finding myself in matches where there are a bunch of pros with 20,000 kills who are smoking me.

This would be a good time to get into the game if you’ve been curious, and are looking to kill time at home.
I saw that in my library last night and thought,"I should play that again."

I'm finding this one a lot less enjoyable than 2016. It's like they took everything that was great about 2016 and TURNED IT UP TO 11, and it's just too much.

Also, I've just encountered an enemy that makes it more Dark Souls than Doom - not what I signed up for!

I kind of want to replay Red Dead 2. Seems like the game to play right now.

I so desperately want to play a good action RPG but I can't find anything that looks appealing

Not an action RPG, but did you ever play the 2016 Doom?
