The rumour was circulating that the Disney streaming service would have a non family friendly element. It would also cater to adults. This looks like it could be on that tier.

I was imagining what happens to Leida Mothma, and was thinking she was a disillusioned adult fighting in the rebellion and hating her mother, but now I wonder if she doesn't die before the end of the series.

Also, Andor started this season with 4 friends and one died in Chapter 1 of 4.

I really enjoyed season one. I have not loved this season. Still optimistic going forward. The titular character not being sidelined should help a lot.

The temples look off though? But it has to be them right?

Kind of another story snag. How did that group of losers who capture cassian not know they were there? It’s disparate little pockets of rebellion throughout the galaxy but if I’m on a planet with no food or resources I’m gonna be exploring the temple just a few hundred metres away

None of that whole thing with that bunch made any sense at all. How are they there? They’re not from there so what is it?

Not reading this thread until I'm caught up, but the wife and I watched E01 last night and thought it was pretty solid. The struggling to fly the TIE fighter scene was awesome. Visual effects, cinematography, costumes, and set design are all still world class. Meero's plan to astroturf a rebellion on Ghorman is the exact type of political critique of the real modern Western/US world that is clear enough to be understood by viewers but not so in-your-face that it's obnoxious and feels shoehorned in. Love that approach. The acting for the group that takes Cassian prisoner was not awesome though, so hopefully they all die soon. B+

I'm gonna be me but canonically that one temple is packed with multiple levels and all kinds of storage halls and was inhabited by monks who there long before the rebel alliance arrived and they come to an arrangement where the monks live upstairs and the alliance has the ground floors and basements, the awards ceremony in a new hope, happens on one of the upstairs levels, and yes the temple is that massive and vast.

id hoped for more of that culture from that planet but we might get it yet.

One of the things that I think we have to cop to, that we love the show for, is that, as people who spent a worrying amount of their 30s and 40s parsing the tea leaves of Thunderbolts, we want a strong, confident, and smart, artistic person like Tony to almost retcon our childhoods into being worth it. All the energy we poured into Star Wars in the sandbox and weirdly have continued to, this show lifts up and dignifies our memories and all of the investment we made in this by saying "actually, there is more there. actually, it was a load-bearing dream."

Anyway, finally caught up. That could have probably been one episode. Still looks great. Love the tension. Love Bix!

The Mothma stuff was peak, though. I may be more interested in her than Casian at this point.

I rewatched. The mon mothma stuff has been top notch. I love the whole wedding, including her dancing. Almost like she knows what she is about to become and take on, so she’s letting go one last time.

Yeah, I didn't rewatch Season 1 ahead of this, so I can't remember exactly, but I seem to recall that in Season 1 she still felt pretty disconnected from the dirty parts of staging a rebellion, and that she just felt like she could foist that stuff onto Luthen and let him handle it. She felt like there was a difference between the political and the guerilla aspects of the cause. It's a fantastic turn early in this season for her to have to sign a friend's death warrant to make sure the whole thing doesn't fall down. I joked about her "Many Bothans died..." line from ROTJ earlier in this thread, but thinking about it again, this episode gives great context to how her character now understands what sacrifice and making tough decisions really is.
