Midnight Mass is the best of them.

MM > Hill House > Bly > Usher > MC

MM might be the best yes, it’s the most complex maybe from all of them; but in terms of being scared I prefer Hill House

"Herd" (2023) is a charming and effective low-key queer drama set against a zombie virus outbreak; it almost escaped my radar but I'm glad I watched it last night

Don't know of or give a fuck about any hype but I enjoyed them.

Watched From Beyond last night, first time watching the vinegar syndrome disc I’ve had for a while. They did a great job on the deleted scenes, they’re noticeably better integrated into the rest of the movie than in the old dvd. The movie is fantastic of course.

I agree with this. We really enjoyed Midnight Mass, and I generally hate vampire shit. Nothing is going to top Bent Neck Lady for me. Hill - MM - Bly - Usher. The other one seems to be the lowest rated - skip it?

The Midnight Club is a YA series, really excellent and emotionally moving as well but I think a lot of people just didn't get it, and weren't prepared for a change of tone or audience from Flanagan; it was cancelled by Netflix and I'm mad about it, but the one season we have is definitely worth a watch; Flanagan knew there had been a following for it, so wrote an article detailing in writing what his plans for season 2 would have been

Blood Rage isn’t streaming anywhere for free so I ended up renting it from Amazon last night to give it a watch before thanksgiving. The rare slasher with not one but two (or three, I guess) very good, if deeply weird, acting performances.That’s not cranberry sauce!

great movie and very obviously influential

well Thanksgiving was disappointing. Not a total dud but definitely not something I see myself watching again.

Just to randomly continue my train of thought from two days ago, this movie felt oddly dated, and not in a throwback slasher kind of way. The plot hinges on a Black Friday stampede, which really hasn’t been a thing for probably a decade now. And when it does feel like a conscious callback (besides the shots that are obvious homages to Halloween, TCM, Happy Birthday to Me, etc), it feels more like a lower tier late 90s slasher like Urban Legends. Lots of needless padding in a movie that should have been 85 minutes rather than 110. Just an odd misfire.
