To add insult to injury, my wife noticed that one of my front teeth appears to be minorly chipped. No idea how it happened, so going to assume it’s me literally falling apart/wasting away.

My back has killed me this whole trip. I guess thru the years our mattress at home has confirmed to our bodies and now any bed that isn’t ours absolutely tears me up.

Last night, I sprained my left knee lowering the kid into the stupid floor level bed we got her. I’m done with that thing.

Bad timing as her birthday party’s today, so I’m meant to be on my feet a lot.

this felt close to 100% fine less than 24 hours later. pretty sure i'm wolverine.

since i'm wolverine, waiting for this to regenerate soon and i can cancel my dental appt next week.

Anxiety levels are skyrocketing which is rather rare for me. This whole move/starting my own business thing is kind of getting to me.

Extremely tired. Oliver Chud had developed some pyotraumatic dermatitis spots while we were out of town over the weekend. The vet gave us some antibiotics and steroids for him but also instructed us to try and keep it as dry as possible. He also told us it’s about as painful for dogs as an extremely severe sunburn would be for us. So all night long the last two nights he’s been up licking and gnawing and of course he sleeps on our bed and he can’t be still for more than 2 minutes at a time. So we’ve gotten hardly any sleep at all. You feel for the guy since he’s in such discomfort, but at the same time just want him to go to fucking sleep.

Take turns sleeping in the guest room?

The spots are all over his neck area where the cone would be. Not really an option.

It’s our method when the kid goes through brief phases of wanting to sleep in our bed. At least one of us gets a good night’s rest each night.

Thanks guys. A project I poured a lot of effort into over the last two months didn't pan out and it really bummed me out. But I feel much better today.

There is a hog in me . . . a snout and a belly . . . a machinery for eating and grunting . . . a machinery for sleeping satisfied in the sun—I got this too from the wilderness and the wilderness will not let it go.

There is a fish in me . . . I know I came from salt-blue water-gates . . . I scurried with shoals of herring . . . I blew waterspouts with porpoises . . . before land was . . . before the water went down . . . before Noah . . . before the first chapter of Genesis.

There is a baboon in me . . . clambering-clawed . . . dog-faced . . . yawping a galoot's hunger . . . hairy under the armpits . . . here are the hawk-eyed hankering men . . . here are the blonde and blue-eyed women . . . here they hide curled asleep waiting . . . ready to snarl and kill . . . ready to sing and give milk . . . waiting—I keep the baboon because the wilderness says so.

There is an eagle in me and a mockingbird . . . and the eagle flies among the Rocky Mountains of my dreams and fights among the Sierra crags of what I want . . . and the mockingbird warbles in the early forenoon before the dew is gone, warbles in the underbrush of my Chattanoogas of hope, gushes over the blue Ozark foothills of my wishes—And I got the eagle and the mockingbird from the wilderness.

O, I got a zoo, I got a menagerie, inside my ribs, under my bony head, under my red-valve heart—and I got something else: it is a man-child heart, a woman-child heart: it is a father and mother and lover: it came from God-Knows-Where: it is going to God-Knows-Where—For I am the keeper of the zoo: I say yes and no: I sing and kill and work: I am a pal of the world: I came from the wilderness.
