I can’t believe we’re about a month away from a show and they haven’t announced it

maybe they are not necessarily committed to this person so they are gonna try this out and then if it's not great move on to the next person Ed meets at a hawaiian open mic night

do we know that they're going to announce a permanent replacement or just someone that will play live shows like a session drummer?

they're arguably all session musicians under the Vedder-Wotman General Partnership Agreement.

Really nothing in this article that hasn’t already been said in this thread but here you go. The fact that Jack Irons is mentioned but not his current health condition makes it hard to take anything very seriously. Still, chances are pretty high that it’s someone from this list?

After posting I saw the update at the bottom of the article that says:

Matt Chamberlain will be playing live with his new band, World Famous Pets, on the night of Ohana, making it pretty much impossible for him to also be behind the Pearl Jam drum kit.
Dave Krusen has publicly confirmed that Pearl Jam never contacted him. So at this point, it seems highly unlikely that he’ll be the band’s new drummer.
And finally, we can cross Jack Irons off the list as well. Jack himself confirmed it directly to us. His return to Pearl Jam would’ve been an absolute fairy tale, but he won’t be the one stepping in for Matt Cameron
