"Dark and gritty" is such a tired, misguided oversimplification. It's not about tone.

I don't see anything new or interesting about the cinematic quality of BvS. It's nothing new, in fact it's positively dated. The dark and gritty take has been around longer than the Marvel movies. Marvel movies were a reaction to this in the first place.

And the storytelling and execution were abysmal. It was trying so hard to look important, but was completely airheaded. Not to mention it just wasn't entertaining in the least. Did anyone enjoy the last third of that movie? Were you invested in anything or anyone in this movie?
I was entertained and invested the whole movie.
Loved Affleck. Loved WW. Supes was cool...Lex Luthor was great. The only character i dont care is Lois, but because of the nature of the character.

I was thoroughly entertained throughout the entire movie, start to finish.
Even the boring ass Doomsday stuff?

I thought this was really good.. enjoyed it 1000× more than bvs....

Pretty much all of the characters I care about (harley, joker, Amanda w, deadshot) were done very well.. I'm not too familiar about the main villain but I guess she was kinda neat.. my only gripe is croc should have gotten some cgi so he looked less cheesy

Leto was no ledger, but I thought he did a pretty good job

Is it really so hard to believe other people could find it engaging?

It's not misguided at all. It's completely guided.

This has been done, and done better. Christ, Snyder already did it with Watchmen. That comic did it decades ago.

I liked it just fine - but it's still doesn't hold a candle to the universe that Nolan put out there

I hope it features more people leaping towards each other in straight lines with as little movement as possible.

Punch, punch, explosion, punch, punch, explosion, all happening over a cg landscape that is absurdly abandoned (no doubt to avoid the criticisms of Man of Steel.)

The action is so lacking in creativity. Hate Marvel all you want, but the action in Civil War was much more inventive and interesting.

Although the Batman fight against the random henchmen was pretty awesome. Where is that movie? That's one I want to see.
