Is Larry Ellison leaving CA? I can't imagine he'd want to add a few more hours to his weekly flight to Hawaii.
Its going to be interesting when CA implements an exit tax.
Does it matter? “Remote from home” or “Remote from Texas” isn’t much different than “Remote from Bangalore” once the business rhythms are worked out.
I was only commenting on Larry Ellison's pecularities.
He flies a private plane from a Silicon Valley airstrip to a larger inland one to transfer to a larger plane that he flies to Hawaii every Friday. The additional time from Texas might be a deal breaker for his relocation.

I sincerely hope other states are watching this and learn from it.
I'm sure its fine. Its not like California state finances are massively reliant on capital gains taxes from the super wealthy.

Because tomorrow is a holiday we got paid today, which is Dec 31. Comparing my last paycheck of '20 to the last paycheck of '19 it's about 88% of what it was. The big hit though will come when we don't get a bonus for the first time in years, since bankruptcy. The one for 2020 was more than 15% of our base salary.

It's almost as if the market is reacting to the shakeup in the Senate and what that means for future stimulus legislation.
