It won't be serious mediocrity. It will be light hearted mediocrity.
Like Anchorman 2, only funnier.

So we can expect a good dose of Spaceballs in this one? That'll be great.

Most damning piece of news yet.

Watched A New Hope today with my boys in the spirit of May the 4th. It's the first time they've watched it, and my oldest really loved it. He's already keen to watch the rest of the movies.
I think it's the perfect time to start the boys on their Star Wars experience, so we can watch the new movies together at the cinemas as they get released.

did you show the originals or the re-releases with all the extra stuff? I liked some of the enhanced effects but I was rarely a fan of the added scenes. I wonder if they are not as distracting if they're the first way you've seen the stor.

Funny you mention it stip, for the most part I'd only watch the originals but the added scenes need bothered me until the added scene on Bespin(the cloud city) and based and troops are leaving and he says something like 'tell my star destroyer to expect my arrival'
First of all, it's clearly and blatantly not James Earl Jones saying the line, and sound awful,
But as IF Vader would have to say that???
The most pointless addition that comes straight to mind

The added scenes were largely pointless. This right here is one of the worst things in film history. Seriously, who the hell thought this was a good idea? It's embarrassing.
