Long Walk home is a top tier Bruce song. Just love the melody, the guitar tone, the lyrics....

So great.

Here everybody has a neighbor
Everybody has a friend
Everybody has a reason to begin again
My father said "Son, we're lucky in this town,
It's a beautiful place to be born.
It just wraps its arms around you,
Nobody crowds you and nobody goes it alone"
"Your flag flyin' over the courthouse
Means certain things are set in stone.
Who we are, what we'll do and what we won't"

It’s all right but it sounds too similar to Gypsy Biker. Sonically, I think it winds up serving as repetitive flab on the album.

The vinyl for Western Stars sounds lovely and crisp.

Absolutely. It's the most egregiously bloated album in his discography.

I need to re-listen to them all to get a proper ranking. I swear I will do it before the summer’s out.

Tom Joad is way too low in that list, and Nebraska needs to be higher too

Well, ranking the whole catalog right now is impossible, but I'd say these are my all time Bruce favorites:

The Ghost of Tom Joad
Nebraska
The Wild, the innocent & The E Street Shuffle
Born to Run
Devils & Dust
Tunnel of Love

+ Hammersmith Odeon, London ´75 (excellent live album)
I want to be a warm and friendly person
But I don't know how to do it

I retracked The River but never really feel the need to do the same for a single disc album.
