That doesn’t seem like something you’d volunteer for.
Buddy you don’t know me at all. After all this time!

Figured you’d want someone else to shoulder the hassle.

I’d probably skew more toward “my socioeconomic sphere” than “the world” if I’m being honest.

AITA
was walking the dog through the park last night in the neighborhood. lady sitting on the bench smoking a cigarette and her retriever was sitting on the edge of the parking lot. bogey is excited to see another dog but isnt doing anything aggressive like barking/growling or nipping. the retriever (who is probably about 100lbs to bogeys 20) take a few steps in an aggressive manner and growls. bogey runs back behind my legs and the other dog pulls the leash from his owners hand so now it is pivoting around me growling at bogey who now whimpers.
i pulled bogey close to me and stood firm and yelled out stop. by this time the lady gets up off the bench. mind you slowly with no sense of urgency and grabs the leash and tells me, Dont you EVER yell at my dog like that. I wanted to drop so many obscenities on her but just said then I suggest you keep your dog under control. for reference the distance between she and I initially was probably about 8-10 feet so i definitely did not just approach her

Compare this person to the lady who very slowly walked her dog right through the field during our little league game last night. Straight across the field in shallow outfield, in front of outfielders. Very slowly. While a batter was up and we had to stop and wait.

its a free country and you have the right to walk you and your dog wherever the fuck you like.
in my experience its always the small dogs cause the problem.
its unusual in the extreme a retreiver would get like that..
sorry peeps, but its always the small dog.
what kind of dog do you have? that might explain it.

Recently some of my old weirdo friends have been messaging me out of the blue wanting to reconnect or something. I don't think I want to answer any of them.

The bold happened to a DJ for the radio station I tune in to over the weekend verbatim, awful. I will never fault the dog when owners have zero care but in public spots these are very precious seconds to react.

Correct, 100% not the norm.
edit: I have worked with many breeds and there is always a chance of aggression though it always factors back.
edit #2: Glad you had your wits about you Peeps.
