Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

First is mediocre with some great moments from Gibson.
Second is pretty bad.
Three and four are where the series hits its stride. Total blasts.

They're all on Netflix now. I think 1 & 3 are aces. 2 is ok, but the plot is sort of nonsensical. 4 is a mess.

i loved the 4th one...i thought it was pretty special, and it had Jet Li!!

Yeah I agree. It's a perfect close to the series. I'm kinda glad they never made a fifth.

Saw Tickled tonight. Had no idea what it was about other than "Competitive Endurance Tickling." It goes down a major rabbit hole and I was super intrigued throughout.

I love those movies, they're part of my childhood I just saw the other day a guy who had a t-shirt with a rasterized Murtaugh's face in the middle, and "I'm too old for this shit" text around it. Would love to get that, but haven't found it anywhere.

Room. It's a mixed bag. Terrific performances, and the camera work for the first half of the film is really good. The music sucks (not just the ending, but the whole manipulative lot of it), and I hate the kid's voiceover for the same reasons. I wish the same story had been told with a more blunt, faux-documentary style. The best example I can think of right now is Martha, Marcy, Mae, Marlene -- that movie took a similar "before-and-after a traumatic event" approach, and it felt so real. This one is executed well, but it feels very Hollywood in that execution.

I still think Mad Max should have won for best pic this year.

I agree...i liked the movie, but the music..ugh, it was such a cheap move. PLEASE CRY, LOOK AT THIS, LOOOK!!!
