I mean, I guess. But why? What does it change or add to the story?

I finished the incredible "Storm of Swords" recently, and I must say the most shocking moment for me (as a show watcher first) was in the Epilogue. Uhh, what the fuck?! Did not see her coming.

Just the best isn't it? Man!

It's probably my single favorite event in the entire series so far.

The books have so much rich mythology that the show can't touch on. I really can't wait for the next book.

I've attempted to rewatch the show since reading the books and the additional perspective I now have has definitely ruined the show a little bit.

That's interesting. I wonder all the time if I would like the show more or less if I hadn't read all the books before it started.

Ultimately, I'm happy with the way I chose to consume it. The books are the books and the show is the show and I can enjoy both at the same time. Nothing is ruined for me.

But watching S5 was great because there was a much greater sense of not knowing what was going to happen.

I'm falling into the "Cersei and Jaime are Targaryens" camp.

Do we do spoilers for castings? I don't know, someone might want to be surprised.

I think we've reached a strange point in time where the show is about to spoil the books, so I think show spoilers are now book spoilers. I'd say casting a known character isn't actually a spoiler

If the Winds of Winter is coming out this spring I hope they announce the release date soon so I can reread the first five before it.

Read A Clash of Kings chapter 53 last night (Jon VII) and I think Jon Snow is not just a warg, but a green seer like Bran.

I think there was a Bran chapter earlier in ACOK where he had one of his early visions and in it he saw Ned, Lyanna, Brandon, and their father Rickard and I thought "hmmm, all the dead starks of that generation, so Benjen must be alive".

Anyone else giving this any serious consideration?

I mean, there's not a whole lot of concrete stuff to point it. But there's the rumor about Aerys taking the first night tradition at Tywin's wedding, and then stuff Genna tells to Jaime.

Then there's just character analysis. Cersei seems to be batshit crazy in the Targaryen fashion, with a hint towards a lust for fire, and her and Jaime's incestuous relationship.

I don't think we'll ever know for sure, or it's a thread that's going anywhere. I just think they are.

So, what significance, if any, does Jon's burned hand have? I've considered the possibility that the frequent references to him flexing his hand may just be part of the character, but has anyone else thought it may carry deeper significance to his story?
