- The first one needs no explaining. It's beige. Enough said.
No. Not enough said. Forgetting the drab, unappealing color choice, if you didn't know the weapon, would you have any idea what that character is supposed to do?
- Spoiler: show
- It's a flyer. How? Who knows. There is no jumppack. The helmet sort of vaguely hints at her role, but not really. She has a ground stomp move, but how does she do it without breaking her legs? how does she bend her leg with that thigh guard digging into her hip? Does it just clip through?
- The second one is...well its a meme at this point, but who does this appeal to? People with blueberry fetishes? A fat character would be fine as long as they still looked like they could handle themselves, but it looks like they copied the fat kid from the Spiderman movies, put them in an embarrassing costume and called it a day. Probably one of the worst designs in human history.
- Speaking of beige, do they know beige doesn't go with anything else? What is this?
- Spoiler: show

beige and teal?! What?
- This one is probably one of the more effective designs:
- Spoiler: show

Definitely not something that appeals to me, but it does appeal to a certain type. But do the tattered clothes fit? Maybe, maybe not. But then her weapon is just a boring uzi-type gun, which certainly doesn't appeal to that audience.
- Is this an AI image?
- Spoiler: show

- Broadly speaking, I have no idea what they were going for here. They were trying to rip off Guardians of the Galaxy and Overwatch, but fail at both. I heard they were drawing from (pre-Star Wars) 70s, sci-fi, but I can't really see it, and is that really something worth referencing?
- Everything is poofy and round and amorphous. Why? Why does everything look like it's made of foam? Is softness really what you are trying to evoke in a action shooter? Sure, maybe a few characters, but every one?
- Seemingly no understanding or even awareness of color theory.
- The silhouettes don't stand out at all (a must for a shooter like this). Ideally, in a game like this, characters should be instantly recognizable from a distance, but few of them are.
- I could go on, but you get the idea.
They spent 8 years and $200 million on this... peak player count: barely more than 600 people. Not 600,000. Six hundred. What was Sony thinking?

I mean, he's definitely qualified to speak on it. And the character designs are awful, except for the hulking Guardians/Thanos reskin dude, which is fine but lazy.

The best ones in the game only rise to the level of lazy and boring.
When your main character is a reptile Starlord ripoff that looks this
unsettling, you know you're in trouble.

It's going to free to play and will fail miserably in that space too.

I dont understand what their business model was. It wasn't going to have a store, and they were just gonna live off of $40 sales? Sounds like it would have had to be a huge hit just to stay alive.

As expected, it's cleaning up on reviews. 94 on Metacritic. I'm stoked, pretty much the only game this year I've been legit excited about

Wouldn't be surprised if Ubisoft crashes soon. Star Wars Outlaws sales were soft. Preorders for the next AC game are down. Activist investors are threatening management.
I wonder if Disney will buy them.

I love Annapurna. The Annapurna Collection is fucking awesome and will probably be one the most valuable games I own - just give it a few years.
