Not really a random PJ reference but something i want to discuss!

Any "last waltz" fans here?

Man alive Ed has stolen material from this for years. I have a feeing he has seen it a million times throughout his youth and adulthood.

Stick with me:

"You know this guy" The band introducing Neil/EV introducing Neil at VMA 93
"Helpless" Ed's cover at the Chicago show with the girl who opened up for him, is basically that version from Last Waltz
"Good evening" the way the Last Waltz starts when The Band takes the stage
"They got it now" I forget exactly why this is ringing a bell but Ed has said this a few times about getting a song ready...Neil says it to robbie roberston before Helpless

Okay thats all I got right now off the top of my head and the Last Waltz stopped playing on netflix for the moment. Im on to something here though. I can feel it.

oh and "this film should be played loud" which starts off the film, is also found on, i believe, touring band 2000 on the back of the dvd case.

To Whom It May Concern:

It is my privelege to recommend Strat for RMer of the day. He bruises easily, but that's because he's sensitive. He plays the guitar with a dexterity last seen during Daft Twat's notorious skin flute tour of the 1995 yearbook. He's also very stretchy.

Sincerely,

Mike McCready

This has been a random pearl jam reference.

Not mocking you at all. Had a little Jameson and started scrolling through RM. Saw your JJ Watt bruise (Jeezus!). Have seen you play guitar. Assume you're stretchy cuz yoga. Oh, and I had just read an email from a student who asked if she could use me for a reference. You were the last poster in this thread, so I tried to repurpose it. Jameson! Love you too!

This is more of a "Random things that make you think about Pearl Jam reference":
David Thomas from Pere Ubu wrote: We’re doing our first English festivals ever in a few weeks.

You’re kidding.

I don’t think people think of us as a festival band. My intention is to scare the bejesus out of these people, to pin these festival-goers to the wall. I don’t like the crowd mentality at festivals. Please. I’m a professional. I don’t want people singing along. We did one in Barcelona and there were these thousands and thousands of people singing along. I just thought: “Oh God. Stop! Keep up with me.”

At some point, I feel like it's Pearl Jam that's singing along with the crowd.

Big Brother had a "Grunge" challenge the other night and one of the obstacles was Pearl Jam.
