It just isn't. "Fun" is probably the last word I would think of to describe that movie.lennytheweedwhacker wrote:indeed...i have the game playing in the background right now...it's funLoathedVermin72 wrote:THE GAMElennytheweedwhacker wrote:what's the better fincher picture: the game or benjamin button?

Re: Ask LoathedVermin
It wasn't for me. This sounds really stupid, I know, but the title gave away the game. Calling the movie The Game took all suspense out of it for me. I knew the entire time that it was meaningless. There was zero suspense.lennytheweedwhacker wrote:it’s a thrill a minute ride of enjoymentdurdencommatyler wrote:It just isn't. Until the fake twist at the end. That was kinda cool because "the game" was over. But in retrospect that part hasn't really aged well. In the moment I dug it though.

Disagree. It's beautifully shot and riveting from frame one. The script veers into saccharine from time to time but I can forgive those lapses because the overall journey is so rewarding and fulfilling and Fincher shoots it with an honesty that resonates deeply with me.lennytheweedwhacker wrote:benjamin button is boring af

I saved the blu-ray of The Game for a special moment. Watched it with my girlfriend at the time (three years ago), with good food, wine, everything. However she hated it. Like really HATED it. But I think it’s a great movie. Every time I’ve seen it since it was new.

I know you're being flippant but I honestly fell asleep the first time I went to see The Game.lennytheweedwhacker wrote:i saw it at snoozefest ‘99durdencommatyler wrote:Disagree. I'm a big Fincher fan. Somehow I'd never seen The Game. Wife & I just watched it finally a couple nights ago. Loved it.
Dragon Tattoo is now the only one of his I haven't seen. Weird that he's making World War Z 2, eh?

But, yeah, he's one of (if not my #1) favorite directors. But I also haven't seen Dragon Tattoo.
That's funny.

Saw a report this week that it's back on & starting to shoot in March. Guess I'll need to catch up on WWZ1 some time soon..
