Am i speechless? Is this a shock? Is it not shocking he didn't die sooner?

This guy seemed bullet proof though.

Damn. Lost a great artist.

Sad

Absolutely gutted. Whether it was a surprise or not, but heart sank more than I've ever felt it sink before when I read the news...

Any fucking clue why? I thought for certain he has legit been clean for quite some time now though once a junkie always. He had covid last year and im sure his immune system was generally wrecked. Suicide?

Ugh.

Having read his latest book and news over the last 6 months, I know his COVID case really took its toll. It's honestly kind of amazing he made it through his COVID experience (he was in a coma for about a month). I'm hoping it was more of a natural death in his sleep or something non-drug related

The fuck, that really caught me off guard. I got to know him thanks to this place and I'm forever grateful for that. Songs like Carnival, Undertow,Nearly Lost You, Field Song, etc are parte of the soundtrack of my life.

So many people I introduced Lanegan to and most of them loved his haunting earnest voice. Dude was so young.

Mark Lanegan passed away at 57. :( He was Eddie's age.

Damn ... I was just listening to the Mad Season songs he recorded and was loving them. I was just thinking that I should listen to more Screaming Trees. :(

Crap great artist. Saw the trees a few times last in 94 opening for Soundgarden. Now all three that lent there voices to Mad Season have passed. Can we put a bubble around Ed and Mark Arm.

Can't believe it - he just kept rolling and was so prolific I just kind of thought he'd go on forever...

Yet another Seattle legend gone :(

I was lucky enough to see Mark live 3 times - solo, with Isobel and with MLB on the Blues Funeral tour. My wife and I met him after on of the shows and he was very warm and friendly - a true gentleman.

Sad news, RIP to an absolute legend. Bubblegum is an all-time great record.
