This was really good, makes me want to re-watch at some point. If you have any pre-conceived notions of Red Letter Media, set them aside--when they discuss movies they love, they're incredibly insightful and fun to watch (especially Jay, and Josh is good, too):

They unnecessarily shit on the 4 hour “Twin Peaks Explained” video: the guy puts together a pretty good theory that Twin Peaks underneath the surface is a commentary on television itself. There’s obviously some confirmation bias involved, but he lays down a pretty good amount of evidence to support his theory. If anything it gave me some perspective on the underlying reasons why solving Laura Palmer’s murder sort of derailed the show and why Fire Walk With Me wasn’t well received (because people were finished with Laura Palmer’s story).
However, this (RLM) is mostly two buddies talking about moments they liked in the show. Enjoyable for the most part
What are the actual odds that Lynch's new Netflix series is a Twin Peaks tie-in?

I feel like the world of Twin Peaks told its story. I could see him wanting to play in that toy box again, but in what regard? I doubt it would be a prequel

Yeah I'm not thinking prequel. If anything I'd expect either a continuation or further explanation of Carrie.
Otherwise, I would guess a "sidequel" if you will. Something that is separate but in three same universe.
Or it could be it's own thing. I'm excited either way.
