HIV/AIDS worldwide is predominantly a heterosexual problem these days. Figures among the breeders testing positive have left the gays for dust and the worst part is breeders don ever go get tested whereas gay men get tested regularly. So while the numbers among straights are huge, they're actually far below the reality cos straight breeder males never get tested so no accurate numbers can be gathered.
The point is, dime, by choosing to be a gay man you are basically identical in your actively chosen risk-taking behaviors to someone who buys a gun or shoots heroin. You decided to be gay...this is a choice you made...so if bad things happen to you it's no different than a gun owner getting blasted in the face. Because gay is a choice, and we all agree on that.
What peeps is missing in his analogy is that all gun owners deserve to die terrible and mangled deaths, whereas your woodworking abilities (both in and out of the bedroom) could prove very useful in a post-climate change world.
I suppose peeps missed the distinction between monogamous gay relationships (guffaw) and the general free for all, what with the anal sex being the riskiest regarding std transmission.
PreP and the like changes things, sure. But, historically, meth filled gay sex was a surefire way of getting AIDS in the long run.
Is it gratuitous for us to blame folks engaging in this risky behavior for the perfectly foreseeable consequences that they suffer from?

This has nothing to do with being gay though. Charley Sheen is HIV positive and he isn't gay.
I've heard some gays pursue a HIV infection so that they can have unprotected sex with other infected people which makes them either psychologically disturbed or complete morons (and nothing to do with the fact that they are gay) but the same could be said for a woman leaving a loaded gun on the back seat of her car with her child.
I stopped by the grocery store on the way home from work yesterday. While in one of the aisles there was a man with wearing a holster with a sidearm at the waist. Older white guy, wearing an outfit that looked like one you'd see an auto mechanic wear. In this state that is perfectly legal (with a license) but it was a little unnerving seeing someone openly carry like that in public.
And yes, I did wonder to myself how I would feel if it was a couple of young guys of another ethnicity doing the same.

In a 7-4 vote, the court upheld a California law that says applicants must supply a "good cause" to obtain a concealed-carry permit. People who are being stalked or threatened, celebrities who fear for their safety, and those who routinely carry large amounts of cash or other valuables are often given permits.
The ruling overturned a decision by three-judge panel of the same court that said applicants need only express a desire for personal safety
My feeling is that if you get caught with a concealed weapon, you really weren't doing a good job of hiding it in the first place. That's why I hide my 9mm up my butt.

The 9th generally has a reputation for being 'out there', but now it seems that the obvious disconnect between Heller and this will be allowed to stand thanks to Scalia dying like a selfish asshole.
We can have Warren vs. D.C. with Heller, but Warren without Heller is a bit of a head scratcher.
