If so, i wonder if being so forthcoming about it is due in part to the drama surrounding the last jedi. Putting it out there that Luke will be back, Lando will make an appearance, and Princess Leia being utilized - to maybe help those fans that wanted death and destruction for TLJ come back around a bit.

Sort of was unusual but a solid move to stop speculation and click bait bullshit.

Question is who hasn’t jj told us about. You know he’s holding back on someone
Probably on a lot.

There was a great article last couple of weeks saying the secrecy bullshit is actually really damaging as it’s what ramps people up to their own demands and expectations and the outcome of that is what’s we’ve seen the past 7 months. Asked JJ to be a little more open as Howard was on Solo. And as Lucas was on the prequels with the weekly making of mini docs they’d post online.

You can let people in without giving the game away.

I like the quiet on most fronts approach. People will speculate regardless.

I swing wildly from wanting to know every thing and reading every spoiler to wishing I could black out and go In totally clean. Think you’ll see them strike a balance. Especially as part of the marketing and building up interest

But that trilogy is supposedly nothing but new characters which is pretty bold and a part of me doubts that Disney would do that.
Plus I think it was rumored that his trilogy would take place long ago, well before the Skywalker sagas

Oh? I thought the long time ago applied to the trilogy the game of thrones folks are working on. I probs got the two confused.

The first story’s that leaked he announced he was on a new diet and training regime. Then he cancelled a con appearance for ‘filming schedule conflict’. That’s all the Star Wars sleuths needed.
Lfl put Hamill on the same diet and training regime as a contractual obligation for TFA. probably an obligation in their insurance

He won’t be doing any action stuff.

The new canon has him owning and running a droid manufacturing facility. Think this is in the Last Shot book. Story about him and Han. So he’s loaded and obviously has contacts galaxy wide. Natural he’d be the one Leia will go to for finance and help.

It takes place in two times frames I think. One after ROTJ and one long before post ANH I think.
It really wasn’t a great book aside from setting up L3 and Landos relationship.

Episode 9 filming in Jordan rather than Israel. Good move. They would have seen a real boycott had that happened there.

I can't say that it'd have any effect on my decision to see this film or not

Moot point. Episode 9 has already its own uphill struggle in the publics minds.
Israel’s behaviour isnt exactly marketable. Certainly not on a Disney’s family friendly level.

They just fired James Gunn for some poorly judged ‘joke’ tweets.
They’re not going to film there and we all know why.

Didn't Walt Disney hate Jews? Like seriously, he was a Nazi sympathizer. He'd be turning in his grave if they were to film a Disney movie in Israel

Dunno about that. He hated unions for sure. And planted loads of famous communist imagery in the background of films.

I think he just wanted humanity to be better maybe.

Except tron. He saw tech taking over the world there
