I had a few work meeting and afterwards went to the Malba museum because it was early and its cheaper today. Had coffee there and came back to my place to work a little more.

I will have a bath later and drink some fucking good Malbec. I might watch a movie.

Spent over 2k at the dentist this morning for them to replace crowns and fillings and deep clean my gums. Don’t grind your teeth folks.

Used GPT to spit out some corporate garbage for some bullshit task I had to do at work today ("goal setting"). I think it was a little too obvious though.

Packaging artwork file hell for me, still.
Les fichiers d’illustrations d’emballage sont toujours un enfer pour moi.
El archivo de arte del empaque es un infierno para mí, todavía.

English speakers don’t cost us a lot of ink.

Just tell them you’ll circle back to that.

I called them three days in a row asking for updates. The answer was always the same: "Your bags made it to Dublin airport. They now need to be processed and will be sent to you." Okay. When? "We don't know. You just have to wait." Can I go to the airport and pick them up myself? "No. You would just be wasting your time. Nobody will be able to help you at the airport. The bags are in process. Just wait."

After three days of this we finally lost our patience and went to the airport. We kicked up a minor fuss and prompted staff to go looking for them. The bags were just sitting there, in a huge warehouse with hundreds of others unclaimed, unprocessed bags. Nobody was looking for them. They were never going to be sent to me. We were able to retrieve them within minutes.

Interesting. Sounds like hard work. Get after it! Good luck!

We’ve been hiring to cover backfills after my boss retired and everyone started to ascend. Except me. I laugh because we are assigned core competencies to focus on when it’s our turn to interview the candidate, and I always get “positive attitude” and “building and maintaining collaborative relationships.”

Clearly they’ve not read my RM history.

This sounds like me. Apparently my work life is the exact opposite of my non-work life. Life is all about balance.

We’re all at RM for the same reasons. It’s a lot of work to remain poised, likeable, and fun - and so we have to go looking for trouble in our off hours.
