"kick your arse in" (or kick your head in) is an English-ism, I was convinced the New Radicals were a Brit Pop band back then

tragabigzanda wrote:Gregg Alexander has had a really interesting career. Sort of a rogue professional songwriter who stumbled into one-hit wonderdom and almost immediately rejected it.
He wrote Sophie Ellis Bextor's "Murder on the Dancefloor!"

His partner in the New Radicals wrote "Unwritten" by Natasha Bedingfield

The second New Radicals single, "Someday We'll Know," was released after the band had already broken up and it flopped. But a few years later it was covered by Mandy Moore, and by Hall & Oates, and by America!!!

It's a nice song

I didn't mind that New Radicals tune when it was charting. It became something of a go-to car commercial number, though. That treatment would be the death rattle of any song tbh.

Jane's Addiction is a mostly forgotten late 80s/early 90s band, including by me, but they rock pretty fuckin' hard. Kinda strange to me that they slipped through the cracks.

Nah, they still get their flowers. When they toured with Smashing Pumpkins last year as the opening band, many went along just to see them!

They'd probably even have rolled out a new album by now if Navarro hadn't fallen ill.
