I'm waiting for sober Juvenal to look over this thread in the future. 'Oh ffs,' he'll cluck, 'what was I smoking?' And I'll respond 'No smoke, but a rather nice Spanish red and the love of an amazing band.'

I was pondering this the other day... Ten, Vs and Yield were the only albums that I received so much joy on first listen, so it's not completely out of the question... even though it sounds nuts to even consider.
I am certain the heat will cool off in the months/years to come as it is just part of the deal at this age. However, im confident this is a legit excellent set of songs.

Well, your typing is still coherent... so you tell future sober Juvenal that it had nothing to do with the wine

I'm absolutely certain that Stone gave away the game when he talked about them bringing the demos to the circle in the morning and then proceeding to tear them up as a group and rebuild from the components, rather than each member clinging to the structure they had in their head and everybody working around that (how they did it on previous albums). It is that kind of ego death that a band like Pearl Jam needs in order to be greater than the sum of its parts (a POSITIVE POSITIVE).

There are multiple vocal and instrumental hooks on this record that worm their way in to your brain, and you'll hum them all day, until you can spin it again.

Big call but this is Yield 2.0.

I was questioning whether Upper Hand deserved that fast outro; it turns out that in good sound quality it does
