You're breaking my heart.
I still think Dance of the Clairvoyants is great.

I’m not writing off the album by any means and I’m not closed to the idea that this song will make more sense (or at least be more bearable) when heard in context.

For the record...i rated it a 3!
Same here, the newness makes me feel like its a 4, but for now i call it a 3 because its definitely not as good as DotC

Do you mean terrible in the canon of Pearl Jam or terrible in general?

Has your opinion of DoTC changed at all? You're not a fan of that one, right?

Yeah, this is weird, but it does.

I think I like what the drummer is doing here better.
You mean messing up the fills?

Rank the best 2nd halves of PJ songs as compared to their 1st halves.

This has to be near the top.

I wish the entire song was covered in the distortion of the final verse

I don't really judge Pearl Jam by a different standard; my favorite Pearl Jam songs are among my favorite songs in general, and the Pearl Jam songs I dislike I also dislike in general

I will have to double check because I haven't listened to it in like 3 weeks

Fair enough - I just don’t see how this song can be “terrible”.

My guess is that this is the most basic rock tune on the album. It's there to comfort the simple fans. I actually liked it more than any other generic rocker I have heard from them on the last few albums. And yupp, I was guessing this was track 2... It falls right in the generic rocker position on a rock album. I'm not that worried.

I can't get over how the prediction cover had a better riff...by just taking the riff Pearl Jam already used at the end and putting it through the whole song. I wish they had actually done that <_<

Yes, like he’s almost, almost about to completely fall out of time.

More than that though, I like that he keeps the hi-hat tighter during the intro; the smashed open hats that Matt plays set up for a blasting rocker that never arrives. I also like how he switches to the ride cymbal during the last line of each verse, gives it a nice sense of movement and lift.

I think the riff does run through the song...it just doesn’t stand out

I think this song would be improved by going into the solo right away instead of "She was a stunner and I was stunned" part .That whole minute is so boring. The chorus isn't good enough to repeat four times. I'd just make it shorter.
