i like this song pretty much, guys. the only thing that bugs me is the piano in the outro. it's tasteful in the bridge but it shouldn't have been that proeminent later on, it's cheezy. apart from that minor complain, this song fulfills its goals; it soars, it rocks, it carries you from A to B. i like it. 4 stars.

Gonna have to listen to the outro piano now.

I think once I get over the pre chorus build up section that is too similar to Unthought Known - I will enjoy this more. The lyrics im fine with, although i think they are overall pretty lame, but the music and some of the chord changes are great. I do like the the outro once ed gets passed the "doesnt die with you..."

Brendan O'Brien is killing PJ, those fucking synthesizers (holy shit I want to kill somebody every time I hear that noise) and pianos are poo stains on this song and Eddie's lyrics suck. The band does an awesome job on this track though, Mike's solo is really subdued but it fits perfectly.

I´m still having problems with the outro, there should be a guitar solo, or at least, the guitar should´ve been more prominet.

i like what we have on the studio take more than the wrigley solo. It's different and so it makes the song (and the climax) feel a bit more special.

Unthought known is in some ways oddly sequenced on Backspacer since it is one triumphal song following another. I wonder how L-bolt will do following sirens

I'm kind of worried about what self-indulgent journey Sirens might take.

the reports seem to say that it gets pretty close to going too far before pulling back. So we'll see. if it requires some initial suspension of disbelief it'll get crucified by the usual suspects

Yup. PJ really don't have a high success rate for first impressions...

they never did, but it is a much larger problem when everyone shares their first impression and then talks about them non stop. I don't hear new pearl jam records differently thanks to the internet but I certainly experience them differently
