To be honest, coming from Belgium:

I'm not that scared for a chilly winter. Although that might be because I'm in a financially good position. I'm more scared for the economic consequences of these insane energy prices and for the impact on our next elections.

Yes, voting on green parties was bad. But they didn't make these decisions on their own. Belgium decided to stop nuclear 20 years ago. Not a single government since (and the green party hasn't been in a government since) has turned back that decision.

As to Ukraine. I'm currently (re-)reading these two books. We were never really taught much about that. The war ended in 45 and all was well in Europe. It's sickening what happened in the east. I hope we don't let them starve again.
