I don't understand what you mean by this.wease wrote:Wouldn’t they still have to have a contract with the venue to distribute tickets to shows?Bi_3 wrote:In a thread on the Pit it's come out that one of the GA Klan has a ticket broker license.
Ticket vendors (Ticketmaster, et al…) have contracts with the venue and the band to distribute/sell “first run” tickets to an event. Originally released tickets, not second hand tickets like Stub Hub and the like. However they get their supply, they originally come from Ticketmaster. Who, in a lot of cases have the rights for distribution in most major cities and most of their respective venues.epilogue wrote:I don't understand what you mean by this.wease wrote:Wouldn’t they still have to have a contract with the venue to distribute tickets to shows?Bi_3 wrote:In a thread on the Pit it's come out that one of the GA Klan has a ticket broker license.
I gotta say, if I were in a band my deeply conflicted personality traits (craving attention and hating attention) would make it maybe literally impossible to see the same face even two nights in a row because that would almost be like performing in front of people I knew. You get the same set of people in the front row for a whole tour and I'd probably have to quit and maybe check into a mental institution.B wrote:Am I reading right? Are they claiming that the band feels more secure seeing the same people in front every night?

I don’t buy it.
A decade or so ago 10c dumped fanclub / ticket seniority because they were sick of seeing exactly the same faces every night in the front row. People with super super low 10c membership numbers getting all the preference and front row tickets etc every single show every tour.
Thats why they did away with the policy and sold it as “to make it fair for everyone and give everyone a chance to be front row”.
I know a good few of those people who had those super low numbers and would be front row every night and they were absolutely furious about it for years afterwards. Probably still are.
But it’s just a big GA pit at every show now for the last several years, so they obviously abandoned that idea long ago.dimejinky99 wrote:wease wrote:It is the same thread. And yes. But the same people still make it up to the front every show.spike wrote:But it’s just a big GA pit at every show now for the last several years, so they obviously abandoned that idea long ago.dimejinky99 wrote:wease wrote:It is the same thread.
