Is that Lolla show a proshot video? I haven't seen any live performances recently.

I personally saw them once after Songs for the Deaf came out and it was the loudest show I've ever experienced (except for maybe SP on the MCIS tour). Needless to say it wasn't the best live sound.

yeah, they have various pro shots from this year...lolla brasil, chile i think and chicago too...the Wiltern show is a must see.

My only time seeing them was in a smaller theatre on their recent tour when they played their debut straight through. It was the concert when I realized I need to take better care of my ears because there had to have been permanent damage from that show. You could feel the sound hitting you in waves. The noise was unreal.

Been listening to a lot of shows from this year besides lolla; The Wiltern show and some others festival ones and they are all amazing.

The jam at the end of I Appear Missing is everything. That song and Smooth Sailing are now my favorites from the last album.

Surprised someone else didn't comment on the Red Rocks show yet...it was a fantastic show, and easily the best I've heard them sound of the 4 times I've now seen them play (once on the SFtD tour, on the self-titled re-release tour, and when they opened for Soundgarden @ The Gorge). I can't recall the exact setlist, but we got a nice mix of songs from every album except self-titled. The new songs sound fucking fantastic live, but we didn't get IAM or ...Like Clockwork, which was a surprise. They did play everything else from the new record with the exception of Fairweather Friends, so I was in no position to complain. I'd been purposely avoiding looking at the setlists for their recent shows so as to be surprised. Long Slow Goodbye was great to hear, as was Burn the Witch. Highlight of the show for me was probably In the Fade.

We managed to get seats 12 rows up, and the weather was perfect. What an amazing venue--such clean sound! Josh seemed to be really overwhelmed by the crowd and the atmosphere.

This one will probably go down as a top 5 show for me, and seen more than my share over the years.

I have a friend that was at this show and he described it pretty much how you did. He was just utterly blown away. The only other time he saw them live was at the PJ20 festival, but he said this show was fucking unreal. I'm jealous of your CO folks.

The show was fucking incredible. I loved the setlist...so much better for my Queen's fan than the self titled show a couple years ago. Weather was perfect as was the sound.

Well, I drove 8+ hours (one way!) from the northern reaches of Wyoming, so I had to work for it! It was worth every last mile...

Earlier in this thread, someone mentioned how awesome the rhythm section is with this iteration of the band. I'd have to agree. I missed the Grohl/Oliveri line-up by a couple of shows on the SDtD tour, but I have a hard time seeing them as being any better than Shoes and Theodore. Theodore, in particular, is a fucking beast, and they lay down the perfect groove. No matter how long we're lucky enough to have QOTSA around, I'm thinking this line-up is going to be the one to beat.

Although Homme/Oliveri/Lanegan/TVL/Grohl was kind of next level.

Yeah, Lanegan kinda puts that line-up out of reach. As far as touring line-ups, though, these guys are without a doubt the best one I've seen.

I certainly prefer Theodore/Shoes to Castillo/Oliveri.
