I wish you all could get the pleasure of Bob Costas and Bob Uecker in a non playoff game setting... they did a couple innings together last year? maybe 2 years ago? for the Brewers and it was some of the funniest TV / Radio (they were doing the radio but the TV used their commentary for a full inning)

MLB Network should just get to pick who does the games, Costas, Matty Vasg.... ergian? Smoltz, Jim Katt, those guys are all great

Not many things aggravate me more than someone using "baseball takes too long" as an argument for why football is better.

The last 2 minutes of any NBA game is far worse than a 4 hour baseball game.

Or "baseball is too slow." Ugh. It's definitely no slower than football. I'm obviously biased because I'm not a football fan, but the amount of time between plays in the few games I have watched is ridiculous. Having said that, I would love to see umps crack down on players/teams that take forever between pitches.

Things seem to have slowed down in the playoffs so it's hard to judge, but have the Red Sox been as insufferably slow this year as they were the last few seasons? I'm sure getting rid of Papelbon cuts 10-15 minutes off the average game time.

to be fair, at least there's good reason in football why there's such a delay in between plays...ball has to be spotted, offense and defense need to call plays and line up etc...

baseball is annoying because pitchers and batters are ridiculous in how much shit they have to adjust before being ready to pitch/hit...gotta step out, adjust my junk, tighten my gloves (even if I didn't swing at the last pitch), touch my helmet, dig in, take a walk around the mound, play with my hat, adjust the pitcher's junk, etc etc etc

Well yeah, and football doesn't bother me as much because I don't watch it, so... I just don't really care that much.

We've been kind of spoiled in Toronto getting to watch fast moving pitches like Halladay, Buehrle and Dickey. But we also watched Jason Frasor for a lot of years, which... ugh.

Watching Halladay and Buehrle against each other in 2007-2008ish was a lot of fun.

I assume it's just a coincidence, but I wonder if it's some kind of organizational thing (pitchers being told to slow things down to throw the opposing batters off or some such.) Were all the slow pitchers just as slow before going to/after leaving Boston?

Yeah, Drew is a solid f'ing shortstop, I've been super impressed with him this year. Sure, he's not hitting right now, but that makes him one of 9 guys that arent hitting right now. If I'm going to take someone out of this lineup, Middlebrooks is a much lesser risk than Drew.

Ben Sheets vs Roy Oswalt had a few games clock in UNDER 2 hours... it actually went toooo fast. For someone who likes to listen to the game at work... I want my 3 hour distraction LOL
