So basically you've been listening to satellite radio the past couple of days?Hatfield wrote:8/27/00 - Oh man. They were so ON that night. I know bands grow older and things change, but I miss that Pearl Jam. Subtle changes made a BIG difference.
Similarly I was listening to Ledbetter from Atlanta 98. Mike's little Van Halen style addition at the end was such a sweet memory. No space for that kind of connection now.
Which bootleg are you listening to?

I just listened to 4 out of the 7 songs from Live @ Easy Street for the first time. All quite excellent.

Re: What bootleg are you listening to?
I have been systematically going through select '05 shows during lawnmowing sessions (PJ shows are great for this, as they're extended programs of generally pretty loud music that can be heard over the roar of a device that the Briggs and Stratton corporation calls simply "Yard Machine"). Tonight was Calgary 9/4 -- early in the tour so a little tentative, but still all around a damn fine show. Ed dedicates "Red Mosquito" to New Orleans (recently hit by Katrina) in honor of the studio in which they recorded it, which he surmises has been demolished. This is also the only time I've heard Ed play "Thumbing My Way" on electric apart from very early solo performances. It elevates the song to another, less familiar level, and seems to inspire Ed to take the melody to some different places. Not as crisp as some of the better '03 versions, but a more imaginative reading, and stronger for it. I'd pick it for a Green Habit-like comp...

Re: What bootleg are you listening to?
I'm listening to New Orleans from this year and--woof. Some of the other shows had sloppy parts, and some of the early ones had that vocal distortion stuff, but this is the first one I've listened to that just feels uninspired, from the performances to the song selection. Arms Aloft is brutal.

Any show that opens with Oceans is alright by me. I really enjoyed this set list, particularly I Got ID into RVM. Some nice lesser played numbers peppered throughout the set, but a really dragging version of All Those Yesterdays. Such a shame cause thats one of my favourites.

Re: What bootleg are you listening to?
Over the past month I've commuted over 5,000kms and listened to a few PJ shows and compilations
Gems and Rhinestones 2009
Flipping Through the Pages 2016
Cinderella 2013
Cinderellas 2014
Big Day out mix
Atlanta 94
Saratoga and Cardiff 00
Atlanta stands out for intensity and how tight the band once were. It is terrifying how good they once were and it stands to reason that it could not be upheld long term.

Listening to 9/26/2006 on its 10 year anniversary. This show is amazing, one of the best of a great tour. The band is on fire and the setlist is unique, especially for 2006:
set: Severed Hand, Corduroy, Hail Hail, Last Exit, World Wide Suicide, Elderly Woman…, Given To Fly, Unemployable, In Hiding, Even Flow, Education, Do The Evolution, Jeremy, Army Reserve, Gimme Some Truth, Whipping, Life Wasted
first encore: Thin Air, Thumbing My Way, All Or None, Black, Wasted Reprise, Better Man, Porch
second encore: Blood/(Atomic Dog), Alive, Rockin’ in the Free World, Yellow Ledbetter
So, so, so good.

I want to listen to some great live PJ. I need some more bootlegs. I don't have many at all. Anybody wanna help me out with a few select shows? Maybe some 2000, 2003, and 2006?

You really can't go wrong with the 2000 shows. Just pick one at random and it'll likely be very, very good.

Re: What bootleg are you listening to?
Is there a general consensus on this board for the top 5 shows of the 2000 tour? Aside from those man/ape stamps of approval.
I did a search but was hoping for a consolidated list if it existed.

That said, this popped up whilst I was browsing youtube and it's really enjoyable. Funny seeing the band play in shorts.
