I'm hoping for LeBron to hit 85% on free throws this year.

Really one of the only weaknesses of his game. Didn't he say somewhere he worked on them over the offseason or am I confusing that with improving his post game?

Right after the season he said that's what he was going to do this summer, but I haven't heard about it since.

He says his goal is 80%. Guess I went too high. I thought he was a little higher than he was; last year was a career low 75%. Also, he only averaged 7 FTA per game for all those people who think he gets tons of calls.

I don't know why but I've always considered 80 percent to be the cutoff between a good and mediocre free throw shooter.

That's probably fair. League average last year was 75%.

Take centers out of the equation and I wonder what it is.

Boozer had 31 4/5. You know you want him after the Bulls amnesty. He always plays well in Florida, where he morphs into 'Floozer!'

Lebron is roughly 67 percent of the TV commercials tonight. They aren't super annoying or anything (I actually like the Nike one where he is running with everyone)......but damn, Lebron overload.

Rose totally got tripped, that's why he fell. However he did get totally destroyed on that play by a horrible player who shouldn't be in the league. It happens to everyone though, especially when someone comes over to set a screen. Rose was gonna try to get over the screen which is what you want to do with a guy who can only shoot jumpers. He just got torched when Cole didn't use the screen. The fall was a trip and made it look worse than it was.

Rose is a very good point guard, but he is over-rated. He isn't in Lebron or Durant's league. He isn't even better than Paul in my opinion. The Bulls have no chance of coming out of the East.

1. Nice team win last night. Pretty much everybody on the team had a part of it.
2. The Bulls will be fine. They're still the Heat's biggest threat in the East.
3. No, I still don't want Boozer. He's been torching the Heat for the last three years, but much like Roy Hibbert in the ECF it's more a product of a very favorable matchup than anything else.

My thoughts on last night's two televised games...

Bulls/Heat
- It wasn't a coincidence the Heat went on their 31-5 run when Butler and Deng were both in and out with foul trouble. The Bulls need those 2 to be in the game. The Heat looked pretty damn unstoppable during that run though.
- Dunleavy looked a little out of sorts. It seemed like all of his passes in the first half were arriving about .5 second too late and the Heat's swarming defense made those slow passes stall plays.
- The Bulls will be fine as 4/5 mentioned. You can tell they haven't had much time together to get a good offensive flow. Some of the problems they faced last year on offense were apparent in this game as well. They will get better as the year progresses. The Heat are just a phenomenal defensive team when they're locked in.
- Nice to see some of the role players on the Heat play well. Really makes it a challenge to defend their floor spacing when multiple guys have it going.
- Rose did not have is ankles "broken" by Cole. He got tangled up with the Bird Man.
- I think the biggest problem the Heat are going to face this year in the regular season is motivation. Last night they were locked in but their level of effort is going to fluctuate.

Lakers/Clippers
- Gasol is going to have a big year if he stays healthy. Lots of points and rebounds for him to get on a rather thin front line (and back court for that matter).
- Nash needs to look for his own shot a bit more.
- DeAndre Jordan still has a lot more work to do to be a competent defender outside of just blocking people.
- Lakers were fired up for this one. It is a rare to see the Lakers as an underdog but they may play with a chip on their shoulders all year.
- It is going to take awhile for the Clippers to pick up on Rivers' defensive system.
- Dudley and Reddick were really good pick ups by the Clippers. Reddick in particular will have a good year.

The starting lineup for the Bulls last night of Rose, Butler, Deng, Boozer, and Noah was the first time those 5 have played together, EVER. The Bulls will be fine.

Seems like you're one of those people that bash Lebron too every chance you get. Can't you just enjoy greatness and let others do as well? The league is better with Rose in it.

You could tell too. Yes, they'll be fine. Defensively they will be an absolute beast once they get a little more experience.
