The black and white makes it feel like it’s own movie. Someone with a better film eye could verify, but it’s shot differently from the main show, right?

Yes it's shot in black and white

I love the black and white scenes. That shot with the floor cleaner driver was really cool.

Great episode.

I think they use more extreme angles for most of the shots. Lots of close-ups and static establishing shots.

FUCK this show is good

Loved ep 2 even more than ep 1
Spoiler: show
- Cold open felt very Breaking Bad. Broad tweaker comedy. I dig it.
- Kim and Jimmy cut through layers of growing tension by taking a tour through their potential new house together, realigning their expectations of and with each other; tersely at first, then playfully, coming out the other side refreshed, like back when they pulled their cons together in seasons past. Beautiful scene.
- Cool to see Krazy 8 get his name. The background story I didn't know I needed.
- Mike became legitimately scary there for a moment. Sad to see him go off on the eighth or ninth actress to portray Kaylee.
- So cool to see Saul in his element. That scene with him doing the rounds at the courthouse is exactly what I thought BCS was going to be when it was first announced. Now that we have 40 hours of tragic backstory behind it, it feels so much sweeter to get to this spot.
- Did he say he had 45 clients? He's going to be needing Francesca soon to keep it all straight.
- I really love Howard Hamlin and hope we get to see a lot more of him this season.
- Very excited at the prospect of the Jimmy / cartel storylines intertwining more. There's a limit to how much you can do it without causing a discrepancy with Breaking Bad, but I'm glad we're getting to that "Lalo didn't send you?" moment

I kind of can't believe that there are still like eighteen episodes between this moment of Saul/Jimmy getting into Nacho's car and Saul being relieved that Walt and Jesse weren't sent by Lalo. I suspect that most of season six is going to be about Omaha Gene

This show absolutely rules.

PS - A Mike spinoff? How old is that actor?

Something I just realized (season 5 episode 2 spoilers):
Spoiler: show
Saul's 50% off causes these two junkies to go on a crime spree which results in them having a lot of money to spend on drugs which results in them buying 10 packets of meth which causes the drainage pipe to get blocked which causes Domingo (Krazy 8) to be arrested by the cops which causes him to become an informant for the DEA which causes Krazy 8's cousin to suspect Jesse which causes them to try to kill Walt and Jesse which results in Walt killing Krazy 8 in his basement

Saul is indirectly responsible for Walt's first killing

Walt probably never gets the idea to cook meth if he doesn’t go for that ride along to bust Jesse’s cook

I never realized it before, but you guys just made me realize that this may be true:
Spoiler: show
It's almost like Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul take place in the same universe

It was apt.

Great ep, didn't even realize it was on again until I saw your post. Nacho's character has some loose resemblance to Jesse's, in that he's aggressively pulled in different directions/trapped in the game. He's much less annoying though.
