Kendrick is terrific and the performance was just as divisive as expected.
Loved the SLJ and Serena cameos.

The Drake beef got tiresome fast and I kind of think they're both fucking losers for bringing each others' kids into it, but there's something very funny about the utter dancing-on-Drake's-grave coup-de-grace vibe of "Not Like Us," winning a bunch of Grammys, and then performing the song on the Super Bowl. I hope it's the end of it

We can only hope. Drake can't lose any harder.

Im listening a lot of Kendrick these days, mainly because im watching him this october.
I love Butterfly and Damn so much. They were so musical, they had so much music in them. Even good kid...had that musical element to it that i feel its kinda lost on the last two albums.

Hmmm... I'd say Damn is pretty much his only other album similar to GNX.
Good Kid, Butterfly, and Morale are very much concept albums, that flow front to back.
Hard to pick any single track from these 3 albums and make sense of it outside the context of its album.
Damn & GNX tracks can stand alone in any mixtape/playlist.

DAMN. is super conceptual and narrative. I think GNX is his only "non-concept" album.

I've listened to essays about DAMN, deep dive podcasts, the whole shtick about the narrative in reverse, etc.
I don't see it.
I guess my dumb ass is not able to grasp that specific concept.

The last two albums are ass, mostly because he's so far up his own. And I don't get the hype for MUSTAAARD. His beats have been extremely average for a little while now.
GKMC and TPaB are where it's at.

Dijon Isaiah McFarlane, known professionally as Mustard, is an American record producer.
He has produced the last two stinkers.

Mr Morale is also brilliant. It's a tough listen, but the work he's doing? Just God tier.

Who cares about all the rest as long as the songs are good.

I don't recall exactly, but pretty high chance it was on one of Cole Cuchna's many deep dives.
