It has a kinda light/fun vibe. Love the harmonies and Jeff’s vocals in general. Nobody is comparing it to their best stuff, but it gets me pumped for the direction this album is taking. It feels fresh considering their last stretch of albums.
I think the biggest thing though is it helps not being a butthole.
The thing I keep coming back to is how this feels like a new direction for the current lineup. Excited to hear more of what came from these sessions.
And Nels guitar sounds like heat waves radiating from a scorched desert road on this thing.
Yeah that’s a good point. I don’t doubt they’ll nail it. I know Nels has played some of their older stuff live with a resonator guitar and such, but a full, new album is a whole other dynamic. Guess I gotta see them live again now. Ugh.

I don't know what a resonator guitar is. I don't doubt that whatever he's playing on is that, though.
