This stuff just depresses the shit out of me. Can't wait for the hundreds of cowardly lawmakers to send thoughts and prayers to the victims and not do a damn thing about it.

Florida always plays a key role in U.S Presidential elections and recent polls have Clinton 2 points ahead of Trump. Given America's tendency to lurch to the right after atrocities I hope this shooter turns out to be a lone nut and not connected to radical Islam. Trump could really exploit it with his anti Islam rhetoric and could end tipping the state in his favour which will be crucial to winning the presidency.

Horribly heartbreaking & infuriating news out of Orlando. Sadly I think there is no way to get the genie back in the bottle; there will be a mass shooting and/or terrorist attack a few times a year. The fact that this one happened to be in a gay club is very secondary that it happened at all.

It's already being ignored and painted as a Muslim/terrorist attack. When in fact it was based in homophobia. Doesn't suit the agenda to report honestly tho.

There's no denying homophobia factored into this particular shooting. My point was more along the idea that this type of thing is being common place enough that we're no longer surprised when there is a mass shooting in a nightclub, workplace, school, theater, etc. And the focus on the shooter being a lone wolf terrorist whom the FBI was aware of, which is how he is being portrayed, takes a way on how he was able to access the weapons he had. We have gotten to the point where we collectively shrug out shoulders and say "eh, what are you going to do?".

BREAKING (via @latimes): Police arrested man with assault rifles and possible explosives who said he was headed to the L.A. Pride parade.

So people are freaking the fuck out, because apparently this dude was suspected as having ties to ISIS, but was still able to stroll into a gun shop and legally purchase an assault rifle the other day.

I don't know about you guys, but when all is said and done, it's a good thing his constitutional rights weren't violated. That could have been tragedy.

It's almost as though there's some kind of connection there.

But that's silly, I guess, considering how gung-ho Islamic countries are about gay rights and whatnot.

It can probably be both.
