Do the Jays announced the other day that they're increasing minor league salaries by 50%. Sounds like the league isn't happy that someone is willing to pay them close to minimum wage.

As someone who does a lot of complaining about minor league salaries, I can't help but feel proud that the team I cheer for was the one to finally take this step. I honestly didn't think anyone would do it until they were somehow forced to.

So do these two games mean he has to wait an extra year for HOF eligibility?

I think so, 2024 at the earliest. No other first-balloters likely retiring this year that I know of, so it'll be the Ichiro show. First Asian player to be inducted, right?

Will he be the second unanimous selection?

He's already been added to the "Future Eligibles" page on the HOF website. Won't be until 2025: https://baseballhall.org/hall-of-famers ... -eligibles

Yeah, that’s my guess too.

Does he deserve to be unanimous?

Well the old knock was... if Ruth / DiMaggio / Williams / Mays / Aaron (fill in whomever your favorite great was) wasn't unanimous why should this guy be? So some stick in the mud would NOT vote for a guy like Griffey, knowing he would get in anyway.

Now that Mo has broke that mold, and you don't have to worry about being the stick in the mud, how do you not vote for Ichiro

I’ve always had a huge problem with him putting his first name on the back of his jersey. So lame.

the brewers really need to get kimbrel with all the bullpen injuries already. otherwise they'll lean on hader too much early, burn him out, and all could be lost.

Kimbrel and Keuchel, I don't have much faith in Jimmy Nelson holding up either at this point.

Interesting thoughts on how "the opener" is breaking Sabermetrics and causing statistical analysis of baseball to change in real time: https://www.theringer.com/mlb/2019/3/25 ... f-pitchers
