I hate that Yoda isn’t proper transparent force ghost and his voice isn’t reverby echoey enough.

And I hate that we see chewie cooking. We never saw that before. How did he learn that.
Needed to get that off my chest.

This is dumb. There's no reason for us to assume chewie couldn't cook. Rey practically enslaved as a scrapper in that desert her whole life gives us reason to think she's never seen a pool of water big enough to swim in.

You can have static characters that dont change and are always right as the hero. That happens a lot in movies actually. Captain America or Batman comes to mind.

One problem with Rey is that, not only does she never change and is already the most powerful being in the galaxy from the start, no one challenges her worldview either (to the extent she has one) except Kylo and Luke, who are portrayed as such weak, hopeless clowns, that you can't take them as serious threats to her. She mows through them as easily as she does everyone else.

But her allies should challenge her as well. I think the great thing about Winter Soldier is that even Cap's own allies like Black Widow or Nick Fury challenge his worldview. Same in Batman with Alfred and Fox (and man is The Joker a counterforce to be reckoned with!). In these Star War movies, her allies can't stop gushing over how amazing she is. Its so pandering. Its like the writers think she needs constant validation, or that if they constantly point out how wonderful she is, the audience will just buy it. yet I still don't know why I'm supposed to care about her. She's just Jesus.

I've noticed this in a lot of recent movies (Spider-man comes to mind).

She’s scavenging in three different star destroyers. Safe to say she’s encountered water tanks and baths within. Obviously stale and undrinkable. Doesn’t mean she can’t swim in them.

These are valid points though i disagree with your assertion that Luke and Kylo are weak and hopeless fools. I think they have challenged her in many ways and i still view Rey as a very volatile and immature character.

could be... But there's also reason to assume she never saw water like that.. and that would be fun in the movie

These aren't luke, leia's, or Han's movies. Those already happened. They are there to serve the new characters of which many of you dont like. So i get the internal struggle here
I liked the potential of the new characters in TFA but they are treated so poorly in this movie. How does Rey even know how to swim? Almost everything is too easy for her. It seems her only real struggle is not knowing who her parents are. Finn rejoices at needlessly trashing a casino in which innocent people may have been harmed and slaves will probably be forced to clean up. He's too stupid to realize that. Poe is still kinda cool, I guess. We all know Rose is one of the worst characters of all time.
This makes you sound like a 14 year old. Come on. Stop.
Seriously? She lived her whole life in the desert. It'd be fun to see her struggling to figure out how to swim or struggling with anything else, for that matter.
C'mon on man. This is why i can't take you seriously.
If you can't take me seriously because of THIS of all things... I don't think I can take you seriously.
Swimming. Really? You need some dialogue or some sort of backstory on how Rey learned to swim? Dude.
No... just doesn't make sense how EVERYTHING is easy for her. It'd make for an interesting/funny moment if she at least was like.. hmm... how do I do this... and struggled to swim a little bit. There are many missed opportunities in this movie and this is one small example.

Misogyny ahoy.

You didn’t complain how han gets off Mimban and suddenly is an expert pilot despite us never having seen him in a ship never mind piloting one.

*amd somehow he can speak to a wookiee without us ever having seen him on duolingo
Haha misogyny? Really? Her sex has nothing to do with it. We weren't told that Han spent his entire life scrapping/selling parts in a desert. That's a different thing. He could've been doing anything in the past for all we know.

But you’re ok with luke having superpowers overnight in a new hope.

Yeah. Misogyny
Luke goes through a massive development and buildup compared to Rey.

Bullshit. Luke hears about the force about 25 minutes Into a new hope.

Rey doesn’t hear about it until an hour into the movie.
Luke doesn’t fully master it until the third movie, and while a clever guy in combat (Death Star/Hoth), it takes a lot of struggle and defeat to fully become a Jedi. That’s three full movies with buildup. For Rey, with everything, it’s all a lot easier, and poorer told. Nothing to do with gender.

They attempt to challenge her, but there is never any doubt that they may be right or that she might be forced into a hard choice. She is so perfect, and they are so silly, that there is never any drama here. She isn't pressed on anything. She's never tempted or forced into compromise. She's never given any difficult choices. Her antagonists are no threat.

Boring.

In the originals, Luke is forced into a few of those moments of decision.

Tree. Honest question. You realise the luke you want is in this movie right?

He started off all reluctance and regret.
Then Yoda and Leia make him aware of what’s happening.
He then takes Rey. Teases her. Teaches her. Then is terrified for her when he sees her going to the darkness.

He then turns up at the end in the most Jedi act imaginable and saves the day.
The war is just beginning and I will not be the last Jedi.

He even taunts kylo with an expression kylos father always used. See ye round kid.

The luke you want is right there.
