Absolutely. Frank Zappa was doing this in the 70's but with routed pickups. Tom Waits talked about hitchhiking when he was still a folk singer and getting a ride from Eden Ahbez, the composer of Nature Boy. I started reading about him and ended up watching a Nat King Cole documentary from youtube where I learned that Nat recorded three albums in Spanish, but didn't actually speak the language. To quote his friend: "He learned Spanish phonetically, he didn't know what the hell he was talking about"

I think I have a pretty high tolerance when it comes to different types of music, but I absolutely hate the kind of acapella music where they imitate the instruments or they make these stupid dum dum dum sounds. I wanna cut my ears off when I hear that stuff Here's one example:

I mean there's definitely a novelty appeal for me in seeing how these instrumental parts get "translated" to the human voice but it's not something I can bear to listen to for long
