For me, it's not that they let Lester go, I don't think Lester is nearly as good as people here act like. They should have gotten ace though, and this 5 mediocre starters strategy was one of the dumbest things they've ever done.

It wouldn't have been that dumb if the starters were actually mediocre and the offense produced the way it was expected to.

To be honest, they've pitched relatively well the last month. It's amazing, whatever it is they need to do to win on a given night, is what they can't do that night.

At this point, that commercial only makes me think of the way that song was used the first time in the Lego movie.

For me, keeping Lester was more about not continuing to undervalue a guy's ability to put up with playing in fenway/boston. Now we've got 2/5th of a rotation that has new contracts and already hates being here. Add to that a 3Bmen and LFer that can't play their position, are adjusting to the American League and hitting/fielding in fenway. Castillo is a bust, and only made for a more overcrowded outfield.

I'm optimistic this is bottom, which means it's 1919-2002 Red Sox Nation again!
