Started this last night. Watched first two episodes which seemed to be mostly set-up. Love Rudd, but so far, I’ve not found it very funny at all.
It's not a "lol" type of comedy. Dark comedy. Its good.

Started Dark back up while on my bike, watched the first two eps so far. It's like watching a German Stranger Things that moves slower than High Castle. The ST comparison sticks not just for plot but also wide shots of random forest and cars driving. And the slowness makes me wish I was in that Netflix beta for variable speed, just to make it through these long scenes of people standing and staring.

I had to turn off the dub because it was fucking terrible, it's much better in German. Like at one point the subtitles had the character say 'bye' but the voice actor, supposedly an 'American' teenager, says "Cheers" to end the call.

So two episodes and the twist has happened.

Also the music is rad.

I understand it's not lol comedy and is a dark comedy. I just don't think anything funny has happened yet.

I'm on the fifth episode now. I'm loving how every episode has thus far been seen from a different point of view.

I'm also loving Kate. Her accent is intoxicating.

I watched S1 of this and was a little underwhelmed tbh. The main policeman character (the dude, you know who I mean) was one of the most frustrating characters I've ever watched. Just continual stupid decisions and actions, seemingly unable to control what he does or says. Twat.

But yeah, the music is great.

He also looks close enough to Mads Mikkelson in that lighting that I keep forgetting he's not in the show.

Just finished it. The last episode was great. It actually had a couple of lol moments in it, too.

Holy fuck, do I wish my wife was from Ireland.

Finished binge watching Gotham on the train to and from work, and was then looking for something else to watch. Decided to give The I-Land a hoon. I'm one episoe in, and I hate it - the characters, their off-putting characteristics, the acting....all bad. But it's a short series so I'm going to continue hate-watching

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

What's the thrust of this doc?
Eating plants = good, Eating Meat = you will slowly die as your body rejects what you're putting in it

What is your body rejecting, according to the doc? Saturated fats? Antibiotics? Stuff occurring naturally in animal protein, or stuff that's put in there from factory farming?
Blood vessels restrict, stomach bacteria goes haywire...... 'Animals are the middlemen - you only get protein from the plants that they eat' - there was a small bit about the effects of farming on the environment.

Maybe you should watch it, and then report back
