Why aren’t you flying?
My wife's oldest just graduated from UNC and starts a job in Manhattan in June. He interned there this summer, and doesn't want to live in midtown or even the city. His girlfriend is probably moving up there with him, so he wants to check out some of the towns along some of the train lines. It is easier and cheaper to just take our car that comfortably fits 5 of us. If we flew, it would by 5 round trip tickets plus a rental car. My wife's parents live in western CT about an hour train ride from NYC, so we're going to celebrate Christmas with them.

On a different note, we are taking the train into the city on the 27th to see Spamalot.
regular NJ transit rail is very unreliable, prone to delays, cancelled trains; even the express lines - although the north jersey lines that have them are generally the best - i guess in the post-pandemic world (3-day a week hybrid) it is prob less of a fist fight for parking, positioning on the platform for the door, and finding a seat - but overall can be an exhausting schlep. has he taken those before? when you are young you can take that pounding though

finding a spot close to an Academy Bus line might be the play. those go into the PABT via express lanes. they are charter buses and you wait at their stop, get a relatively comfy seat, and avoid the flim flam of NJ transit and penn station

PATH train to jersey city is also pretty reliable but sounds like he wants to live farther out

Metro North express line down through white plains also pretty reliable. Hudson line much slower, but much prettier view. And you prob know how those CT lines are...

Doesn't Joey live in Manhattan?

Where did the kid stay when he was doing the internship?

Thank you!

I have a compulsive/obsessive mind so I know it's that and not some great love I'm missed out on.

You’re in a much better place now. You’re off the booze, getting your body healthier, have a new squeeze. You’re making progress, brother. The ex is now a footnote in this chapter of your life and she’s the one missing out, not you.
