Rumors in the offseason is that he wanted something like 6 years / $100m, although I have to imagine it's dropped since then.

He'll be signed as soon as the signing team doesn't lose a compensatory pick. Is that June 1?

This week it is rumored he’s looking for 3 years $45M. At that price he is affordable for a team like MN that actually lowered payroll last off-season.

Yeah, pretty sure that’s right.

Kuechel is said to be open to 1 year over 18 million at this point.
I just don't get why these guys are holding out, well what I mean is, if no one gave you a multi year contract this year, do you really think someone is going to give you one next year after sitting out all year? I guess the only hope is a team like Milwaukee has a pitching staff with a ERA over 6 gets desperate.

Teams also aren't interested in giving up the draft pick to get a player for one year, so that complicates things.

Mariners should pay both Kimbrel and Keuchel whatever the hell they want for the rest of this season. $30m each? Sure let’s do it.

Going into the 9th inning of todays game, Milwaukee had gone a full week, scoring runs ONLY via the long ball. Over 70% of their runs scored this season have come on home runs (I believe they said the 2010 Blue Jays held the highest season mark at 65%) Finally they scored a run on a bases loaded walk in the 9th today. Just does not seem like a good strategy for winning, waiting for home runs.

It’s also known as the Bobby Cox method.

Yeah, Chris Welsh might want to go ahead and have someone else write that apology letter.

being down on the farm really elevated his game from "not being ready for mlb 3 1/2 weeks ago" to "mlb-caliber player."

I thought he was "injured" and the team was making sure he "felt good."

The Twins started doing that on some home games this year too. It throws me off.
