Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. Natural Bork Killers do not like
White Men Can't Jump funny
No Country For Old Men genuinely don't remember him in this movie
Kingpin meh
The People Vs. Larry Flynt just a terrible movie
A Scanner Darkly haven't seen it
And he's the best part of the Hunger Games movies. he's totally unbelievable in those movies

I like him a lot. But he would never make my list of favorite actors. He does his thing, does it well enough and is always serviceable. Every once in a while he really shines (like True Detective).

Loved him on Cheers and I really like him in Wag the Dog, too.

For the record, I'm judging his performances apart from the overall movies. I don't like Natural Born Killers at all; I find it to be a very unpleasant and needlessly "loud" movie, but I think he's fantastic in his role. Larry Flynt is also not a great movie, but I thought he was excellent.

Yeah, I can dig that. You probably value him more in those roles than I, but he certainly isn't bad in those.

Man, ParaNorman is super good. This is my third viewing and it keeps getting better.

ParaNorman grew on me a lot. I think my expectations were through the roof on that one, but its really good.
