Just Let the Records Play.
please be good please be good please be good
I hope it's more 'Leaving Here' / 'Gremmie' / 'Don't Gimme No Lip' than Supersonic.
Hopefully more SBTC, but sounds (description-wise) more like Rock Around Barack and 1/2 Full.

Are you going to still hate it if you sorta like it?

I don't even remember Rock Around Barack, and don't care to hear it again, but Half Full is awesome.

Will you still love me even though you hate Sirens and I like Sirens?

I might stop doing that thing you like, but I'll still love you.

That's an interesting remark.

Indeed. It seems like the social justice / tree-hugging identity-political angle might be a logical one to take for a previously angry band that isn't angry anymore. Exhibit A. Incubus. Their tree-hugging sensibilities have led them to make the worst album ever by a wide margin. But it's still a form of quiet non-violent resistance, so that youth is still somewhere in there. If that makes any sense at all.

Sirens is going to be this album's Unthought Known.

Lightning Bolt is already this album's Unthought Known. Sirens might be this album's Inside Job.

Anyone hear the Mike McCready interview that would be interested in posting the cliff notes version?

Mirella has posted her thoughts from the listening party but they're in Dutch at the Moment. I've asked about an English translation.
This is so funny. They were in English from the start. I only introduced it in Dutch since it was posted to the Dutch board. Saying I only made an English version .
groetjes,
Mirella

You're right. I've been getting ahead of myself for two reasons: 1) Brendan O'Brien has said almost everything about this album leading up to its release so far, and 2) the band that created it has said virtually nothing. That's not another complaint, just a clarification more for myself than anything. I'm really not unhappy about anything else so far. FD is what it is, it's a filler song stuck on the end for a purpose. The problem there is just that its appearance at Wrigley has hyped it up beyond belief, and it's not that kind of song.

And a lot of what BoB has said is right in line with everything people dislike about him to begin with.

Also true. We've learned nothing we don't already know about him. He just keeps putting his foot further in it.
