People get really lazy and often confuse unexplained things for plot holes.

real life is generally pretty boring. You trade off a certain degree of 'realism' for the visual or emotional impact that something has. Who gives a shit if the T-Rex probably should not have been able to get out of its pen in Jurassic Park. Those scenes were terrifying and awe-inspiring?

A plot hole is probably not a reason a scene doesn't work, though it is something you're likely to really notice if you don't like a scene.
