I am anxious to hear what kind of protections may be in place around Manafort; I wouldn't be at all surprised if he had an accident in the shower prior to his trial.

Also, what happens to his $10M bail? Does he get that back, or is it a sunk cost?

I’ve watched it play through several times and haven’t seen anything that is sufficient to convince me of that. It drops right in the middle of a rather lengthy, earnest defense of Kim that exactly matches the truly-meant defenses and compliments he’s offered the man in recent days. He doesn’t laugh, smile, or do that “you know what I mean” prodding thing he does when he teases people. But more than that, he is a man who has spoken admirably of Kim, Putin, and Duterte, has asked public servants for personal loyalty, purposefully lies to the public and has worked hard to delegitimize the press and law enforcement in order to further the power of his lies.

If a normal president made a joke about wanting the level of obedience that a cruel dictator has, it would be scandalous. When someone who mimics and admires them says it, what the fuck is even funny about it?

At the very least, he is lying. At worst, he is being totally serious.

This is the same "brutal honesty" (diarreah mouth) that his followers praise him for.

At this point, if Trump stomped on a litter of puppies, there would be people defending it like he was making some kind of grand political statement. His followers are fucking sick, and a lot of it has to do with the fact that they are following a habitual-lying con-man and cannot tell right from wrong any longer. Read about any cult.
